Singapore also has 5 Polytechnics and is home to many private education providers. Student should opt to study at EduTrust approved institutions only.
Most private education providers offer joint programmes with many UK and Australian Universities so that students can either opt to get a degree from these universities in Singapore or continue to complete the course in UK or Australia.
Application process is straight forward. You just need to
- Submit a duly filled application online or a scanned copy of application
- Pay a non- refundable application fee
- Attach a copy of valid passport
- Attested/ notarised copies of education certificates
- Proof of English (IELTS/ TOEFL) Score card. In some cases institutions may accept letter from school to confirm medium of language is English.
- Statement of Purpose and a CV (for MBA application)
March and October are the key intakes for Singapore, some institutions may have intakes in May as well.
In Singapore student are not allowed to work part-time during the course unless the course has an internship built into it.
Full Time work after studies
The starting salaries of Students who have completed masters degree in Singapore can earn upto S$ 3000 per month and those who have completed their bachelors can earn upto S$ 2500 per month.
On securing a job students need to convert their Student Pass to Employment Pass.
Total cost of living for a student in Singapore can be upto S$10,000 per year. This includes Accommodation, food, Travel and other costs during the stay.
Tuition fee for Masters Courses in Singapore can range from S$20,000 to S$ 50,000 for the duration of the course.
Bachelor’s programmes cost from S$10,000 to S$ 20,000 per year.
Students can opt for diploma programmes as well offered by some institution which offers vocational job oriented programmes.
Students need to apply for a Student Pass to allow them to study in Singapore.
The supporting documents are submitted to the education institution who will in turn lodge the visa application online with Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to request for a Student Pass on behalf of the student. The key documents are ICAIMM16 form and ICAV36 form along with copy of passport valid at least for 6 months.
It can take upto 6 weeks to receive an approval from ICA following which student need to pay the first instalment to the University / College . In receipt of the fee the institution issues an IPA valid for upto 15 days to the student which allows them to travel to the Singapore. On arrival student need to submit his medical certificate and the IPA to ICA which then issues the student the Student Pass.
